There is quicksand on the Platte

Like cinnamon rolls and rhubarb pie, quicksand can be measured from poor to great on and near the great Platte River in Nebraska.

There is quicksand, but it is not the horse team and wagon swallowing kind. It tends to give way under weight and the small granules sift in on top of the wheel rim or your foot but it is easily gotten out of. Thus spake the folks who know about it.
