Misko at Southern California Writers Conference

I have been asked to speak and teach a workshop at the Southern California Writers Conference in San Diego over Presidents Day Weekend, February 17-19.

"Former SCWCer James A. Misko returns with a particularly relevant author’s journey to share as a Special Guest Speaker. In somewhat of a coup, Square One Publishers, the excellent house known for its nonfiction titles, has acquired Jim’s first four previously published novels, and will release his latest just in time for the conference. The Path of the Wind tells the story of an idealistic young teacher cast to a remote lumber mill town in Central Oregon, where an intolerant school board and jealous superintendent conspire to break his spirit and destroy his career."

The workshop is like this:
The Crucible: Every Actor is Affected by Events
Leader: James A. Misko
Objective: Life and fiction become interesting when people are put in testing circumstances. How do your actors react to the events that occur in the crucible where your story takes place? What you can do to spur reader interest. Bring one of your protagonists or antagonists to this workshop.

All of my novels will be offered for sale by the on-site book seller, Mysterious Galaxy of San Diego.
Come on down. The weather should be great.

If you have read one of my novels and not posted a review I would be honored if you would go to www.amazon.com and www.bn.com and post your opinion of my book or books you have read. In this era of reader reviews authors live or die by how many get posted by happy readers.

May it go well with you. Jim

  1. The Cathedral has the opportunity to host the Denver trip as well, which means this is going to be like a week long lock-in with 80 friends and we'll get to help those in need! For our High School trip we partnered with Next Step Ministries which builds relationships with various communities before hosting mission groups. This means that the projects we work on will really be meaningful to the community. Educatological
