At last an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch today (Sunday 6.16.13) eludes to the affect neonicotinoid insecticides are having on bees. You recall the nationwide Bee Colony Collapse Disorder problem that has been identified and everyone is scrambling around trying to find out why colonies are losing 30% of their population PER YEAR for the last five years.
So what is being done that wasn't being done when the bees were healthy? The chemical companies who control the new hybred seeds that are coated with pesticides so they are planted with the stuff coating them, like an M&M peanut, are now studying the colony collapse.
Those who are causing the problem are now studying how to cure it. Make sense? Let the fox work on why the chicken population is decreasing?
One of every three bites of food you eat depends on pollination by honeybees. You are going to hate it if the US doesn't stop this nonsense and get back to sustainable agriculture.
Sustainable agriculture is the sub-plot of my coming novel AS ALL MY FATHERS WERE. It should be on book shelves by November 15th, in time for Christmas presents. Read the first chapter FREE on my website. Click on BOOKS at www.jimmisko.com
