If you have ever driven down the road from Copper Center to Valdez, Alaska, you will not be surprised that the snow which had built up on the tops of the mountain through which the river runs, melted, iced, and slid with the warming weather to cover the roadway and isolate the town of Valdez.
If the ice isn't too bad the boats can get to Seward and Cordova, but who wants to go out in a boat in the winter anyway? So, hopefully the people there have done their "disaster planning" and have a supply of food, water, and fuel until Spring.
Officials say they can open it in two weeks, but this sourdough does not believe that. Can it be done? Yes. Will it be done? I really doubt the state or anyone will throw that much money at a bunch of snow. Let it melt and make sure the airplanes can come and go for emergencies.
Think how much you could get written on your book if you were snowed locked? Great times.

Everloving snow fall. Glad to be in the desert today. May it go well with you. Alaska Jim
