Between the coffee roaster, the licorice vendor, and the diminished traffic at Costco's Dimond on Friday I happily made a double sale about noon. Finding many buyers who have never had a book signed by the author before. Do you like author inscribed books and do you collect them?
The first book I ever had that was autographed was by Leo Politi, who also illustrated all of his children's books. He didn't just sign in plain ink, he also wrote: "To Rebecca" and then decorated two pages with nearly psychedelic watercolors! I was greatly impressed.
ReplyDeleteHope you still have it. I see inscribed books in the used book stores and have several that I verified who they were inscribed for with the author. Increases resale value if author becomes known and has small numbers of signed or inscribed books. Good collecting. Jim
